Wilkie is honor bound to marry into the family of a valuable ally. But when Roses sweeps him off his feet-literally-settling for an arranged match is no longer an option. Now, these star-crossed lovers find themselves in a fight to defend both their hearts...and their lives.
Review: This book is a historical love story set in the Highland countryside. Roses is a true highland lass that falls in love with Wilkie MacKenzie and that’s where the story begins. Ms. Miller weaves this love story through the book flawlessly with the politics of Scotland as a background for the action. She gives us a glimpse of clan functions as she describes the cast system in Scotland and arrange marriages for strength of the clans. It’s great to see how the love between the spunky Scottish lass of servant class manages to capture the heart of the brother of the Lard. Little does he know the root of the problem is that Roses is the King’s missing daughter. Love conquer all in this Highland story; a great read from Juliette Miller.
Highland Claimed is the first
book released in the series The Clan MacKenzie. I must say that I am not usually
a historical romance reader but Ms. Miller’s story made me look forward for the
following books in this series. I would recommend this book to my friends and
especially to anyone who enjoys historical romances.
