Review: First of all, prior to this book. I have never read any of the Jane Austen Academy books. As a Jane Austen fanatic, I am ashamed to admit I have never read “Northanger Abbey”. I was absolutely thrilled when I heard about this book and more thrilled when I found out there was more than one. In the first couple of pages I was hooked and did not want it to end. And was sad when I discovered how short it was. I tried to take my time reading it and enjoying every second of it but I failed. And I failed miserably. I could not stop reading for the life of me.
Love, lies, and betrayal run rampant
in this book from beginning to end as we follow Kat on a path to
discover herself and what she truly wants. In school, she's a star on
stage. She knows who she is and she is good at what she does. Off the
stage, she doesn't have the slightest clue to who she is. She thinks
she knows what she wants but is unsure how far she is willing to go.
Kat quickly learns the good and bad in the world of fame.
This story is compelling and sweet. I
was so sad to have it come to an end. If you enjoy Young Adult novels
and Jane Austen, this modern retelling is the book for you. I highly
recommend that everyone reads this and read the others in the series.
I am certainly am.
