Review: Slow Burn is the second book in the Smoke Jumper series of books. This book is the story of Even Donovan who does an ex-buddy a favor -looking out for his ex-wife in town who is shooting in pictures of the firehouse his brother is rebuilding. This is the beginning plot of the story as we are introduced to two likable characters-our hot fireman Evan and Faye. These characters are very likable as they show the trails of finding new relationship but also coming to terms with one other dangers job. Faye first husband had also been a fireman but that didn’t stop her from falling for another man doing a dangerous job. Evan was a true hero in who he handles but his life and his job. These two characters were well matched for each other and was a joy to read.
This book was not only a love story between two people but a mystery. Who would risk it all to join the smoke jumper and how nor would he go. This subplot kept the reader interested to fine the culprit by the end. But my favorite was the need of the book when Faye opened a gallery and had nude pictures on display of Even and sold fireman colanders to rebuild the firehouse-every women dream. You will get a hot read in Slow Burn.
