Parlaying her success into a new business, Dara launches a revolutionary dating service geared for the perennially single and romantically challenged. Its no-holds-barred theme soon makes the company a roaring success, even catapulting Dara onto the national talk show scene—until, of course, it all backfires.
With her company under threat and a publicity stunt gone haywire, Dara is forced to join the ranks of her lonely heart clientele, and suddenly realizes that saving the business she cherishes, means facing her lifelong fears—and maybe even falling in love again.
Review:
Neurotically Yours is not my first read from Bonnie Trachtenberg,
nor will it be my last! Trachtenberg doesn’t disappoint, her characters are
full of life, quirky and extremely likeable. Dara Harrison is a hard working
woman who works as a relationship columnist for a weekly paper called LA Entertains. Dara is known by fellow
staff and column readers as the go-to person for straight forward advice and
really telling it how it is. But all of it goes awry when she launches a LA dating service called MateSearch.
Let me just say that I really
enjoyed this story because of Trachtenberg’s ability to pull her reader in.
Trachtenberg’s writing is detailed and smooth from chapter to chapter. She
really knows how to build a scene. I’m not sure if it’s because of her own
experience with news/media writing or because she’s just a fantastic writer,
but Neurotically Yours is the perfect writer contemporary romance. The
situations are believable, the characters are easy to love and the story is fun
to read. I loved the irony of Dara’s situation and I think that that’s what
really made this story enjoyable. Nick Wyatt is the perfect love interest and a
wonderful mix to the cast of characters. It was fun watching the chemistry
build between Dara and him.
Overall, I would highly
recommend Neurotically Yours. It’s
the perfect blend of humor, romance and a little bit of drama to make thinks interesting.
I look forward to reading Trachtenberg’s next novel.
